Bali Bliss: A Soulful Retreat to Remember
"Where every breath met beauty, and every moment became a memory."
In May 2025, Sense 22 Yoga curated a transformative retreat in the heart of Bali, blending yoga, meditation, sacred traditions, and scenic adventures. From chakra meditations to blessings by a revered Balinese master, this journey touched the soul and deepened the bond of community and consciousness.

My Bali Experience: A Journey of Joy, Yoga, and Memories
Bali was flooded with tourists from around the world—and I’m sure each one of them had a special experience. But what I want to share here is my story—our story—a journey that went far beyond sightseeing and became a soulful retreat.
We were part of a yoga retreat hosted by my parents, Mr. Shailesh Patil and Mrs. Thriveni Patil. Around 20 of us came together, forming a vibrant group with one common goal—to reconnect, realign, and rejuvenate.
We stayed at the serene Om Ham Retreat, nestled among lush greenery, fish ponds, and peaceful surroundings. The place itself felt like a sanctuary. Smiling faces, warm greetings, and kind-hearted locals created a sense of home away from home.
Day 1 : Arrival & Welcome
After a long 12-hour journey from Mumbai to Bali, we took the first day to rest and settle in. At the induction session in the evening, each participant received a thoughtfully curated retreat kit—this included:
- An eye cup for cleansing and grounding
- A specially designed Bali Bliss T-shirt with “Om” written in Balinese script
- A journal book and pen to document our reflections
- And of course, a warm welcome that set the tone for the days ahead.
Day 2 : Awakening the Spirit
The retreat truly began with a morning yoga session in Kundalini Hall, led by Aparna More, where traditional yoga postures met gentle breathwork. This was followed by an energizing chakra meditation by Kapil Kapadia, helping us explore our subtle energies.
Later, we set off to explore Kintamani and the spectacular Lake Danau Batur, with a distant view of Mount Batur, an active volcano. The scenic Tegallalang Rice Terrace and the exciting Aloha Ubud Swing made the day complete.
We returned for an immersive Yoga Nidra session at night, guiding us into deep relaxation.
Day 3: Monkeys, Temples, and Playfulness
Our morning began with a visit to the peaceful Ulun Danu Temple. We even took a thrilling speedboat ride on the lake—sharp turns and cool winds made it unforgettable.
Later, at the Ubud Monkey Forest, we interacted with playful monkeys—some climbed onto us while we fed them! The energy was wild yet endearing. Statues of Lord Hanuman reminded us of the deep spiritual connection between nature and mythology.
Day 4: Ramayana by the Sea
We visited Uluwatu Temple, perched on a cliff with breathtaking ocean views. As the sun set, we watched the Kecak Dance, a powerful retelling of the Ramayana, with Hanuman leaping across the stage—dramatic and divine!
Day 5: The Gates of Heaven
Our cameras came alive at Lempuyang Temple, also known as the Gates of Heaven. The majestic gates, reflecting in water, became the perfect frame for divine clicks. It was as spiritual as it was scenic.
Day 6: Beaches & Bazaars
We soaked in the sun at Nusa Dua Beach, walking barefoot on black sand, with sea waves splashing at our feet. A visit to the local Ubud market and mall gave us a taste of Balinese shopping culture—handicrafts, clothes, and lots of laughter.
Spiritual Encounters
One of the most powerful experiences was meeting Master Ketut Arsana, a revered Balinese yoga master. His Minivera Ashram radiated peace. His blessings, presence, and healing energy were felt deeply by all of us—a moment we will always carry in our hearts.
We also performed Trataka (gazing meditation) with my father, Shailesh Patil, and had a heartfelt closing ceremony in front of the Ganesha idol at Om Ham. It was emotional, sacred, and grounding.
Day 7: Goodbye for Now
The retreat had come to an end. With journals filled, hearts full, and souls nourished, we bid farewell to Bali. But something had changed—we had found something within.
Final Reflections
This retreat wasn't just about yoga or travel. It was about connection—to ourselves, each other, and a land that welcomed us with open arms. Special thanks to our guide Putu Leena, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a seamless experience. Her gentle smile and local wisdom made our journey even more enriching.
To all participants—thank you for the laughter, the presence, and for choosing to be a part of this special journey.
And to Bali—you will always be in our memories.
